Cement, Ras Al Khaimah, UAEGulf Cement CompanyReal-time ESG data and process optimization70,000-100,000 tCO₂ reduction potential per year (estimated)
The challenge
Gulf Cement Company operates an integrated cement plant with around 2.5 Mt of cement and 1.3 Mt of clinker capacity. ESG and emissions data were compiled periodically from separate plant, laboratory and finance sources, which made it difficult to track performance continuously or to link decarbonization measures to results.
What we delivered
- A digital decarbonization roadmap prioritizing energy, fuel and process measures
- SustainOS connected to plant systems (DCS and historian) so energy, production and emissions data flow in automatically
- ESG & MRV and GHG & MRV modules calculating indicators and Scope 1 and 2 emissions continuously, with evidence and approvals
- A Carbon Command Centre giving management a live view of emissions, energy and intensity
- Twin & Optimize recommending operating settings for energy-intensive process areas
The outcome
Management now has real-time visibility of emissions and energy performance, and ESG reporting draws directly on validated plant data. The roadmap identifies an estimated 70,000-100,000 tCO₂ of annual reduction potential, and optimization is expected to lower specific energy consumption by 2-3%.
Cement, Saudi ArabiaRiyadh Cement CompanyESG framework alignment, reporting and SustainOS ESG & MRVESG frameworkreporting aligned to the selected frameworks
The challenge
Riyadh Cement Company wanted a structured ESG report aligned with recognized frameworks and regional disclosure expectations. ESG data was spread across departments and spreadsheets, with no single process for collection, review or evidence.
What we delivered
- Stakeholder engagement and materiality assessment to define priority topics
- Framework gap analysis and an indicator map covering the selected frameworks and Saudi Exchange ESG disclosure guidelines
- ESG report preparation, from data templates to the final document
- SustainOS ESG configured in manual data mode, with indicator owners, approval workflows and evidence attached to each value
- Training for data owners and the ESG team
The outcome
Riyadh Cement now has a framework-aligned ESG report and a repeatable process for future reporting cycles. Each department submits its data in SustainOS, reviewers approve it in one place, and every reported value carries its supporting evidence.
Steel, Saudi ArabiaAl Ittefaq Steel Products CompanyESG framework reporting and a structured data process, now under wayUnder wayproject recently started
The challenge
As a steel producer, Al Ittefaq Steel Products Company (ISPC) needs ESG reporting that reflects the realities of an energy-intensive operation, with credible data on energy, emissions, water, safety and the workforce.
What we are delivering
- Materiality assessment and framework selection with input from steel-industry subject-matter experts
- Definition of steel-specific indicators and calculation methods
- ESG report preparation aligned with the selected frameworks
- SustainOS ESG configured in manual data mode with templates, owners, approvals and evidence
- Support for the first reporting cycle on the platform
Expected outcome
The project has just started. When complete, ISPC will have a framework-aligned ESG report and a structured process for collecting, approving and evidencing ESG data, with the platform ready for real-time integration as the company’s data maturity grows.
Steel, IndiaEvonith SteelClosed-loop optimization of laminar coolingClosed loopAI setpoints written back to the control system
The challenge
In a hot strip mill, the laminar cooling system sprays water onto the strip to reach a target coiling temperature, which largely determines the steel’s mechanical properties. Variations in strip thickness, speed and finishing temperature make it difficult to hold the target consistently with fixed cooling patterns.
What we delivered
- A process model (digital twin) of the run-out table and laminar cooling, trained on historical mill data
- An AI optimizer that calculates the cooling header pattern and water flow for each strip in real time
- Closed-loop write-back of setpoints to the control system within agreed operating limits
- Operator dashboards showing predicted and actual coiling temperature, with an advisory fallback mode
The outcome
Evonith Steel operates laminar cooling in closed loop, with tighter control of coiling temperature and more consistent product properties. Measured results are being verified with the plant team.
